Do listen to the tracks! Haha :D | | 4chan.org thread about 'perfectly timed photos.' Do enjoy! |
| | Everyone, say hello to my first niece Margaux Amihan Romero-Groleau! |
| | Hey guys, I'm looking to sell my Grado SR60 headphones. I bought them off this guy from Dumaguete a couple of weeks ago. Bought it simply because I couldn't wait for my cousin to bring me home a fresh pair of SR80's. My fresh pair arrived last night and want to sell the old pair.
It's in very good condition, perfect sound quality. Has had dozens of hours of playtime so it's fully burnt in already (right now it even sounds better than my new pair, and my new pair is supposed to be of a higher model at that). The cord is also okay, includes a 1/4" miniplug adaptor.
The only physical problem I could see is that the silver paint on the right driver that says "series" is already fading. It could easily be fixed with a silver marker if it really matters to you. You don't really see that faded part when you have them on, do you (and who cares what other people think)?
Some marketing strats:
-The Grado SR60 is known to be the best pair of headphones that could be bought for its price.
-It's an 'open' pair of headphones which means everything sounds more natural compared to the closed Sennheisers which sometimes sound like you're inside a drum or a tunnel. *This also means though that sound leaks in and out, but that wasn't really a a problem for me.
-Bass response is excellent and thumpy, but that does not mean that the mids and the highs suffer. You can still tweak your equalizer to get the bright highs that you may want (Although I think most people just want thumpy bass). Simply put, the drivers can handle the whole range.
-Unlike Sennheiser, Bose, and many other brands, the headband is NOT PLASTIC. Plastic headbands easily break. Imagine buying a 15,000-peso pair of Bose Triports only to have it break which will cost you time to get replaced (if the store *does* replace your pair). The Grado headband is a metal band with a vinyl cover.
-It's comfortable having them on, I can sit for hours with them on. Grado is also known for causing very minimal listening fatigue.
-I don't know of any stores that carry the Grado brand locally.
-If you really want brand new, good quality headphones, you'll have to resort to Sennheiser or AKG but that will cost you more if you buy them locally.
-Why Grado over Sennheiser? IMO, Sennheisers of the same range are lacking in bass, and I'm guessing that's mainly because they're usually used for reference purposes. Not very fun to listen to.
-Why Grado over AKG? I've read that AKG's known for the brilliant highs. Nobody wants too much of the highs. Besides, one of the reasons you'd want supra- or circumaural headphones is because they can deliver more bass.
-Why Grado over Bose? Bose is known for the bass, but I've read that it's overblown most of the time and sometimes muddy. Other than that, plastic headband and is generally overpriced.
-During the time I was still using the SR60's I spent more time listening to music with them on than my Shure SCL4's (what a shame!).
-It's also easy to drive, your iPod could do it. You won't need an amp.
-It comes with the box.

Reasons for selling: -Got a new pair of headphones -Bills need to be paid for -Etc etc
If you want to audition the SR60's (please do!), please just text me @ 09178499630 or if you have any questions, just post a reply here. I'm initially asking for PHP3000 for the SR60's, but that's negotiable. :)
Thanks! Dino |
